Therefore, you should take control of the air within your space. Here’s how to improve the air quality of your home or business.

Change Air Filters

The first way to improve the indoor air quality in your home or business is by changing the air filters. The purpose of air filters is to remove common household pollutants that travel through the air.

When an air filter gets old, it no longer does as good a job of filtering your air. Therefore, it’s essential to change your air filters periodically. As a general rule of thumb, you should change your air filters every three to six months based on the filter type that you use.

Check Air Ducts

Checking your air ducts is another way to improve the overall air quality within your home or business. Air ducts carry warm and cool air throughout your home and business spaces to ensure the climate remains regulated.

However, these air ducts can accumulate dust, pet dander, mold, and other particles over time that affect the air quality within your space. Checking your air ducts will allow you to pinpoint any potential contaminants circulating throughout your air. Getting rid of these contaminants is one of the reasons to have a professional clean your air ducts.

Use a Dehumidifier

The third way you can improve air quality within your business and home is by using a humidifier. When the air in your home is moist and humid, it creates the perfect conditions for mold and mildew to grow.

Mold and mildew can circulate throughout your space, negatively affect your air quality, and cause allergies and asthma-related problems. Therefore, you must control the humidity level within your home or business. You can control humidity by using dehumidifiers.

There are all kinds of humidifiers available for you to use. You can strategically place a few throughout your space to ensure that you’re controlling humidity levels and overall air quality.

Now that you know how to control your home’s or business’s air quality, you can utilize these techniques today. The better air quality you have within your space, the healthier the air will be.
