How To Keep Your Sunroom Warm During the Winter

Sunrooms are great spaces to have in your home. With plenty of windows and seating, a sunroom provides a relaxing place and a subtle transition between the indoor and outdoor areas of your home.

However, some homeowners avoid using this room when it gets cold outside—such a waste! To help you get the most out of your sunroom during the colder season, here are some tips on how to keep your sunroom warm during the winter.

Add Insulation

Insulation is a pricey endeavor to undertake. However, for those who plan to live in their home for several years, the temperature control it offers is worthwhile.

By adding insulation to the walls of your sunroom, you can enjoy a perfectly warm room without worrying about getting too cold. Adding insulation to your ceiling, too, ensures you are covered on every side and further reduces your worries.

Add Rugs

Many sunrooms make use of tile or wood flooring. These are great stylistic choices for the room’s design, but they are not ideal for winter weather.

When considering a flooring option for your sunroom, also consider adding some rugs to the area for extra insulation and warmth for your toes when the temperature drops.

Add Radiant Heating

The look of wood or tile in your room is stylish and great for many interior design themes. However, sometimes adding something, such as a rug, can clash with your original vision. You can avoid this by installing a baseboard heater to keep your flooring warm. This form of radiant heating means you don’t have to rely on rugs or socks to stay comfortable.

Enjoying the beauty of winter is difficult when your room makes it hard to get cozy. Understanding how to keep your sunroom warm during the winter allows you to enjoy the space no matter the season.
